What Would You Do…?

I was talking with a friend today when she told me an interesting story. I’ll leave out specific names and details, because they aren’t important, but I am interested in how others would handle this. So, here is the story:

My friend was frustrated with a company that has a Twitter presence. Her complaint was not related to anything that company had posted on Twitter, but she was sure to include the company’s @username in her tweet and her message was rather negative. Shortly thereafter, she received an e-mail from the company refuting her complaint and requesting she delete her tweet.

Now, I know how I would handle this, but I am curious to know how you would deal with it. Also, would it make any difference to you if you knew the person that contacted you from the company? Shout out your answers in the comments or let me know on Twitter at @davidzumini!
